It has been a fantastic tournament year so far!
Congratulations to the following students who competed at Master Walker's
tournament of champions in Bloomington, June 08. Everyone performed very well and, more importantly, displayed great comradarie/sportsmanship in both wins and losses.
Through many wins and even some very tough losses, they all grew to be better
athletes and individuals via the experience at the tournament. Again, congratulate the following:
Jason Griffin
Dylan Antonacci
Megan Nally
Emily Rhodes
Jacob Mizeur
Jenn House
Abby Giest
Mackenzie Newhouse
Keagan Newhouse
Thank you parents for attending and supporting the team.

In February, a record 28 competitors put it on the line at Master Auvenshine's Tournament at LLCC in Springfield. We missed having the most competitors at this tournament by two. For many students, this was their first tournament ever. It was a great confidence and self esteem builder for all that participated. Here are just a few highlights of our competitors:
- Dylan Antonacci, first place, forms, his first tournament.
- Jenna Bresnahan, first place, forms, her first tournament as a blue belt.
- Lucas Rhodes, first place, forms, his first tournament ever.
- Mackenzie Newhouse, first, sparring, her first tournament sparring.
- Nicholas King, first, sparring, his first first place finish after many tournaments - PERSISTENCE!
and to top is all off,
- Punam Suthar, Blue Belt, with no competitors in her division stepped up to the Black Division and fought/defeated a Black belt; this is a testament to the strong training program we have. All ranks are earned in our studio, and not purchased for sale!
Thank you parents for bringing the kids out to such a great event.
Missouri State Taekwondo Organization Championships: 2 weekends ago, Keagan Newhouse earned first place in forms, and then barely missed first place in sparring after 3 matches in a row. He lost the championship match by a controversial 1 point. As you know, Keagan is gearing up for the US Olympic Committee's Junior Olympics in July.
